A 20 kW three phase system is for large homes and small businesses with three phase power and serious daytime load: a farmhouse with pumps and sheds, a workshop, a home with ducted air conditioning, a pool and two electric cars, or a rural property replacing a big quarterly bill. With 45 panels it produces about 78 to 84 kWh on an average day.

Three phase lets the inverter spread generation across all three phases and export up to 15 kW, so a system this size is not throttled the way it would be on single phase. On the Mid North Coast a well sited system averages about 4 kWh per kilowatt per day across the year. For this package that is roughly 78 to 84 kWh a day, or around 29,600 kWh a year, with more in summer and less in winter. A north facing roof does best, but east and west facing arrays still perform well here and can spread production across the morning and afternoon.
