Solar Installation Woolgoolga

The town sits at the northern end of the Coffs Coast, twenty-two kilometres past Coffs Harbour, in a subtropical climate that runs hot and humid for much of the year. Cooling costs climb through summer, which is exactly when a solar array produces most.

Woolgoolga has grown steadily, and the housing shows it. There are older homes with small, cut-up roofs, established brick places from the middle decades, and newer estates with large simple roof planes that suit a big array. What suits one does not suit the next, so we quote on what is actually there instead of a package chosen from a price list.

SolaXs is based in Port Macquarie and services this end of the Coffs Coast. Over twenty years of installing and more than 5,000 systems sit behind every design we put forward. The assessment, the design, the install, the Essential Energy paperwork and the support afterwards are all handled by our own licensed people.

We fit Trina, Jinko, REC and Tindo panels, with Tindo made in Australia. Inverters are Fronius, Sungrow, GoodWe, Sigenergy and SMA. Batteries are Sigenergy, Sungrow, BYD and GoodWe. Commercial installs, off-grid builds, repairs and monitoring are all part of the service, and we can add an EV charger while the crew is on site.

Humidity and heat matter more than people expect. Panels lose a little output as they get hot, so we allow for airflow under the array and pick equipment rated for a subtropical summer rather than a mild one. Inverters go somewhere shaded and ventilated, because an inverter cooking on a west wall all afternoon will not last the distance. Roof condition gets checked at the same time, since old sheeting is far easier to deal with before the panels go up than after.

Businesses in the town are worth a separate mention. Shops, cafes, workshops and accommodation run their heaviest loads in daylight, which is the ideal profile for solar, because nearly everything the array makes gets used on site instead of exported. We design and install commercial systems as well as domestic ones.

A lot of homes around here went solar years ago with a modest array and no storage at all. Those systems still work, and in many cases the sensible upgrade is a battery rather than a full replacement. Whether that is possible depends on the inverter, so we check it first and tell you straight if the answer is no.

Where the existing array is too small for a household that has since added air conditioning, a pool or an electric car, we can expand it or fit a hybrid inverter that handles both the old panels and new storage. Monitoring gets added at the same time so you can see where the power is going.

The federal home battery discount applies to storage, and the federal solar rebate applies to the panels. We handle the applications and take both off the quote before anything is paid.

Common system sizes for Woolgoolga homes and small businesses. All are installed by our own crew, and any of them can be built with storage from day one.
