Solar Installation Missabotti

Missabotti is farming country in the hills behind Bellingen, which shapes every system we build here. Blocks are large, the terrain is uneven, and tall timber on a ridge can put a house into shade well before sunset. Panel position gets decided by the sun, not by what looks tidy.

Missabotti is a rural district rather than a village, spread through the hills about 15 kilometres from Bellingen. Properties here run pumps, sheds and workshops, and many have long overhead runs between the road and the house. Power use is higher and less predictable than in town, which is exactly the situation solar and storage were made for.

We have been installing solar for over 20 years and have completed more than 5,000 systems. Everything is done in-house by licensed people: the site inspection, the design work, the installation, the Essential Energy paperwork and whatever attention the system needs later. We service the Bellinger Valley from Port Macquarie and schedule jobs so the crew is here for a full day.

Panels are Trina, Jinko, REC or the Australian-made Tindo. Inverter options run to Fronius, Sungrow, GoodWe, Sigenergy and SMA, with batteries from Sigenergy, Sungrow, BYD and GoodWe. An existing array can usually take storage without being rebuilt. We check the inverter and the switchboard first and tell you what is possible.

A hill property is not a suburban roof with a longer driveway. Cable runs need voltage drop calculated, older switchboards often need upgrading before an inverter can go on, and three-phase supply, where it exists, opens up a larger system than a single-phase house would allow. Sheds frequently have the better roof, and running the array there is regularly the right call.

Reliability is the other reason people here install storage. Rural feeders take longer to restore after storms bring branches down, and a battery with backup wiring keeps the fridge, the freezer, the pump and the lights alive through it. We wire the essential circuits so they change over automatically, which matters most in the middle of a wet summer night.
