Solar Installation Kendall

Plenty of houses here sit on generous blocks with mature gums close by, and shade is the single biggest thing that separates a good design from a disappointing one. We map the shade across the day before deciding where panels go and which inverter suits.

Kendall is a small village nine kilometres from Laurieton, tucked into the western side of the Camden Haven. Housing here is a mix of older weatherboard cottages, fibro homes and newer builds on acreage, with plenty of sheds and workshops drawing power through the middle of the day. That daytime load is exactly what a rooftop array covers best.

Over 20 years of installing and more than 5,000 completed systems sit behind every quote we write. It is inside the area we cover most weeks from Port Macquarie, so lead times are short and so is the wait for service afterwards. Our own licensed electricians do the work, we lodge the Essential Energy connection, and we claim the federal rebate on your behalf so it comes straight off the quoted figure.

For panels we use Trina, Jinko, REC and Tindo, which is made in Australia. Inverters come from Fronius, Sungrow, GoodWe, Sigenergy or SMA depending on the roof and the shading. Batteries include Sigenergy, Sungrow, BYD and GoodWe, and they can go in with a new array or onto a system you already own.

Rural blocks around Kendall often have the house in one spot and the shed some distance away, on a long overhead run. Where that is the case we look at whether the array belongs on the shed roof, which is usually bigger and clearer of trees, and how to get the generation back to the meter without losing it in the cable. Three-phase supply, if the property has it, opens up a larger inverter.

Older homes bring their own questions. Switchboards on fibro and weatherboard houses sometimes need an upgrade before an inverter can be connected, and we tell you that at quote time rather than on install day. Roof sheeting condition matters too, since panels are going to sit there for decades, and we will say plainly if a re-roof should come first.

Some properties to the west sit a long way from the nearest pole, and the quote to extend the network can be more than the cost of going without it. We design and build full off-grid systems for those blocks: panels, battery storage sized for a run of overcast days, and a generator that starts automatically if the weather stays bad.

Design work matters more off-grid than it does on a suburban roof. We go through what appliances run, when they run, and what you are prepared to shift to the middle of the day, then size the battery bank from that rather than from a rule of thumb.

The same approach works for sheds, studios and granny flats on rural blocks where trenching power across the paddock is the alternative.

Common system sizes for Kendall homes and sheds. Every one is designed for the roof it goes on, and every one can be paired with battery storage.
