Going off-grid properly starts with a load study, not a panel count. We go through what the property runs, when it runs it, and what absolutely cannot go dark, then size the array and the battery bank around the worst run of overcast days rather than a good week in October.

Generator backup is part of most designs. It should almost never run, but when a wet fortnight arrives you want it to start automatically and top the bank up without anyone standing in the rain with a pull cord.

Hybrid is the middle path for properties that already have a connection they are not happy with. Solar and storage carry the house day to day, the grid stays as a fallback, and the federal battery discount applies the same as it does anywhere.
