That combination makes farm solar work harder than a residential array of the same size. We also allow for dust and shed traffic when we choose where the inverter goes.

Homes get the same care. Older weatherboard houses, newer builds on acreage and everything between are assessed individually for roof condition, pitch, orientation and shading from surrounding timber. Where the site is difficult we split the array, use optimisers or ground-mount it in a clear paddock. We also repair and upgrade older systems and retrofit batteries to them.

A dairy is one of the better candidates for solar anywhere on the Mid North Coast. Vacuum pumps, milk cooling and hot water for plant washing all draw heavily, much of it during daylight, and every kilowatt hour generated on site is one you are not buying.

The design work is in the details. Motor start-up currents, three-phase balance and the existing shed switchboard all need checking before an inverter is specified, and cable runs between buildings have to be sized so voltage drop does not eat the gain. We survey all of that during the quote.

Storage suits farm sites where the load continues after sunset or where an outage stops the plant. We size it against the real daily profile, and the federal home battery discount is deducted from the quote up front.
